How to get ready for FUNtober (parents, this is for you!)

  • Bowl of cereal with cornflakes, sliced pear, blueberries, and raspberries, with a spoon inside the bowl.

Start your day with a superhero breakfast.

Put some whole grains or cereal in a bowl. Pour milk on top, add yogurt, and then some colourful fruit. This makes a great start to your FUNtober day and gives you and your child all the energy you need.

  • A young boy in a yellow jacket drinking water from a plastic bottle outdoors.

    Stay hydrated and stay happy.

FUNtober will make you thirsty! Remember, Port Augusta’s tap water will keep you and your child hydrated and feeling good.

  • Smiling young boy showing soapy hands with bubbles

When the fun is done, wash your hands.

Washing your hands will help to keep you healthy. Use soap and water, and scrub your hands well to get rid of germs.

  • A young boy wearing a colorful, faded bucket hat with a neutral expression, outdoors with a blurred natural background, and a blue cartoon crown sticker with a smiling face in the top left corner.

    Be smart in the sun.

Remember to "slip, slop, slap"- slip on a long-sleeve shirt, slop on sunscreen (SPF30 or more), slap on a wide hat, wear sunglasses, and stay in the shade when you can.

  • A young girl lying in bed with a thermometer in her hand, having her forehead checked by an adult, indicating illness or fever.

    Feeling unwell? Stay away.

If you or your child have cold or flu symptoms, it's best to stay at home. We want to keep everyone safe.

  • A woman holding a young girl with a concerned expression on her face. The woman is looking at the girl, who is looking at the camera. There is a green paperclip with a smiley face in the bottom right corner.

Be with your child at FUNtober.

Parents or guardians should be with their children at all times during FUNtober. We know you’ll love our family-friendly activities, and can yarn with other members of the community.

We owe our success to you…

A big thank you to our amazing team of local helpers. We're incredibly grateful for your hard work and support.
